We want this store to be usable by everyone, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text.
What we aim for
We are working to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. In practice that means:
- Every part of the store can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone
- Focus is always visible, so you can see where you are
- Images carry descriptive alternative text
- Text and background colours meet contrast requirements
- Nothing important is communicated by colour alone
- Form fields have real labels, and errors are announced clearly
- Menus, drawers and accordions work with assistive technology
- Motion is reduced automatically if your device asks for that
- No audio plays on its own
- Text stays readable on a phone without zooming
How we test
We run automated accessibility checks and, separately, work through the store by keyboard by hand — because automated tools alone don't catch everything.
We don't use an accessibility overlay
Some stores add a widget that claims to make a site accessible automatically. We've chosen not to, because overlays don't reliably deliver conformance. We'd rather build accessibility into the store itself.
Something not working?
If you hit a barrier anywhere on this store, please tell us — including the page and what happened. We'll fix it and let you know. Contact us.
[MERCHANT TO COMPLETE] Add the accessibility contact email and last-reviewed date once the store is live and the first audit is complete.
